In the spirit of the Olympics...

Well, it has been a while since I posted... I have been busy studying for an exam I have to take for my "real" job in a few weeks. Why do they make case studies so bloody ambiguous!?!?! Good thing Kurtis has been gone for the week so I can focus on studying!

In the spirit of the Olympics (Go Canada Go!!), I thought I would post some "sports" themed layouts that I have done in the past. Sports are a great scrapbook subject! The fast-action shots and victory faces are precious memories that you want to preserve in a rich format. I find sporting events very fun to scrapbook because you can use a big, bold and bright approach. Below I have included a few examples of "sport" oriented pages from my collection.
Take me to the rodeo!
And of course, my all time favourite sport, curling!
I wouldn't be Canadian if I didn't include some hockey pictures...
Fast action sports...

And of course, the best team to ever play football... The Saskatchewan RoughRiders!
Well, hopefully these can get your mind working on some possibilties for "sport" pictures you may have laying around just waiting to be scrapbooked!

Holidays Holidays Holidays

Holidays are one of those times when everyone remembers to take out the camera, so usually we have lots of fun pictures from family gatherings and holiday festivities. We all want to remember our favourite holidays with fondness and clarity, so get out those Christmas pics and get in touch with me to start planning your holiday album!
Again I would like to reiterate that layouts can be as detailed or as sparse as you want them to be. In my personal "chronological" albums I try to fit each event into one or two spreads so that it can tell a story as well as be beautiful to look at. I prefer my "chronological" story to remain very simple with not alot of embelishment and more pictures to tell the tale. If I do not have very many pictures from an event, I will try to include memorabilia or a large journaling block to write out my memories of the event. If there is no memorabilia available, I create decorative embelishment to enhance the few pictures I do have. Embelishments should always be ENHANCEMENTS, and not the focus of a page. We are scrapbooking in order to re-live and share our memories with others, not to just see pretty ribbons and paper.
Below are some Christmas and winter layouts from my personal "chronological" album:
The following layouts are from a family Easter get-together:
Don't forget about all those fun times with your realatives and friends... let's get scrappin!

Congratulations Graduate!

Graduation is one of the most important and memorable events in a persons life...whether from Highschool, University or College. Featured in this post are several graduation layouts done over the years. Some feature journaling, while others do not. I love to add memorabilia to my scrapbooks since that is what they are: "scraps" of your life. Note the programs and tickets in some of the layouts below.

Depending on your style, a layout can be full with as many pictures and as much memorabilia as you like (as long as it still looks good and flows!), or as simple as you choose with as little as one or two pictures.

Many Scrapbookers will make their pages very full of embelishment and only feature one picture. I prefer to tell a story in my books, and like to feature an entire event in only a few layouts if possible.

Whatever style you are, I will work with you to preserve your memories how you would like to see them. Check out some of my other layouts for more ideas!

Welcome to ScrapArt by Pris!

Good morning Scrappers and fellow creative enthusiasts! I am finally ready to update my sight and get my business started! This has been a long time in coming, and will continue to be a work in progress as I will have to make time to get on the net as often as possible. I have started a Scrapbooking business in which I create pre-made layouts and custom designed scrapbooks. Please have a look through my Gallery to see some past projects and on-the-go creations.

I am a very versatile scrapper and pride myself on benig flexible and adaptable. That being said, I am a perfectionist and if I do not like the finished product, I WILL redo it until it is right. I have an ever-changing style, and yet consider myself fairly traditional. I am very flexible when it comes to projects and am always looking for somthing new... here are just a few of the types of albums that I have done in the past:

Generational/Family Heirloom
Bridal Shower/Bachelorette
Wedding
Honeymoon
Year by Year (cronological)
Event/Club/Organizations (Drama, Sports, etc)
Childhood Memories (from birth and up)
Vacations
Holidays
Everyday Life
Elementary/Secondary School
Graduation
Sports
Fashion Shows
ABC albums (personal life, organization, event, etc)
And many more...

If you are interested in a custom scrapbook, I offer consultations throughout the process to make sure that my ideas and your memories are on the same track. I am dealing with YOUR memories, therefore YOU should have a say in how they are preserved!
